It may be a cultural metropolis, but Kiev has an amazing variety of outdoors escapes and countless parks to ramble and is also known as the green capital. Kiev’s Andriyivsky Descent district has some solid entertainment on offer and is one of visually impressive areas with the  Museum of One Street, artists, the house of “Master and Margarita”, antique shops and an alley of coffee shops, bars and baazars sorted on a simple cobblestone street. Easily the prettiest city in Ukraine introducing the churches galore with St. Michaels Golden – Domed Monastery on the throne, named after Kiev’s patron saint. In all its impressiveness you can see it on the right bank of Dneiper river. Right across of it is Saint Sophia Cathedral, first heritage site in Ukraine and another tricolore beauty. Main street of Kiev, Khreschatyt (Cross) is impressive in size and Renaissance architecture with a big underground shopping center and high end world brands. 


1.Andriyivskyy Descent

Nicknamed as the Montmartre of Kyiv, this district is a compilation of history and art reachable from Kontraktova Square metro station. Stroll along the One Street Museum and soak up the history presented in your every step. Visit one of the best examples of Baroque architecture, St. Andrews Church. Museum of the famous Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov is found at the house no.13. The whole area is full of antiques, street artist and craftsmen, especially during weekends.

2. Kiev Pechersk Lavra

Set on grassy hill above the Dnipro river it is also known as the the monastery of caves with underground labyrinths, a special place for the pilgrims and a tourist attraction for the visitors. Price upper/lower Lavra is 25uah. Visitors hours are 9am-7pm Apr-Sep, 9am-6pm Oct-Mar. Caves 8.30am-4.30pm. Its a must see during your time in Kiev.


3. Saint Sophia’s Cathedral and St. Michael’s Golden Domed Monastery

Named after Kiev’s patron saint, St. Michaels Golden – Domed Monastery is situated  on the right bank of Dneiper river. Visiting hours are from 8 am to 9 pm. Right across of it is Saint Sophia Cathedral, the first heritage site in Ukraine. Grounds/cathedral/bell tower entry price are 20/80/40 uah, visiting hours are: cathedral & museums 10am-6pm, grounds & bell tower 9am-7pm.
